John's birthday cake

I never had a chance to show you John's birthday cake I made for him for about 5 months ago.
It was my first cake I have ever done by myself completely. Okay, I cheated a little with using box cake (since I didn't have any measurement cups) but otherways it was a basic cake with strawberry jam, lemon curd, cream and hand-rolled marsipan (that didn't looked so pretty in the end).
The cake was science themed with atoms and equations, as would be his taste. To my surprise he liked it very much since he hadn't had a cake like this before.
At that moment all my hours in the kitchen was totally worth it just to make someone happy for his birthday.

Home ticket booked!

Aaand there! The flight ticket home is booked!
First there will be a little stop at my cousins for the celebration of my aunt but after that home is the final destination.

I feel excited to go home, yet where I live now is also my home. But things will be great, I know it. These cookies tell me so too! :)

Old photo

Oh-My-God!
I found this picture while I was sortating my pictures (my memory disk is so full so I can barely work on my computer anymore) and when I looked up the date on it, it was from spring 2006!!
I was only 13 and about turning 14 that summer.

Wow.. I haven't change a thing these last couple years have I?

Miss you siss!

This is two sisters in their natural habitat.. or? ;)
(This was one of the best pictures we had together, so then you can guess how the other turned out.)

Anyways, it was awhile ago since this was taken, but it doesn't mean that I have forgotten about how fun we had. So basically what I wanted to say is, thank you Tess for coming over it was a lot of fun!
Hope the rest of you can come and visit me soon too! :)

To Antwerp!

Last thuesday me and John went to see our friends in Antwerp (Antwerpen in dutch). We had a wonderful time where we played games, went out eating at Amadeus and explored Antwerp further more.

It was lots of fun and well, I think the pictures is just going to speak for themselfs.

Tomorrow I am off to see my sister in the south of sweden so there will probably not be any blogposts if I know myself right.
So I guess I see you all on sunday, or something.. :)

Lazyness

The last couple of days I have dragged myself to do something with my life and not only just sit around. Getting to the gym has been a challenge and I think it will stay in that way for another couple of weeks before I will start to enjoy it.

But today I have really done nothing. Tried to eat some chocolate to get some energy but nope, I am still a couchpotato..
Tasty chocolatebar though..

Getting stuff done

Around two hours ago the caretaker took care of all our troubles in the apartment. We had problems with the doorhandle to the toiletroom (so basically you couldn't close the door without getting locked in), the toilet was leaking, two outlets was broken and the fridge was a total mess. Because of the bad conditioned fridge (it is from the 70's) we are getting a new one! YES!
It was kind of funny the way we both tried to communicate with each other though. We pointed on the things and used a few words that we knew in each other languages (he spoke french). But somehow we managed to understand each other anyways. I guess that the body language will always come in handy!

Now I am off to the gym!
The picture is yesterday's session on the bike. Man, I could not walk down on the stairs after that, without feeling like soft spaghetti, haha!

Ps. Sorry for the weird text. Sometimes it decides to be a size bigger than the normal size..

Sportscard

After years of uncertainty I have finally got myself a sportscard. Having it in my hand makes me excited yet scared. I know how easily I give up when it comes to training, I convince myself I have too much pain, too tired, too little time and so on.
This time though I hope it will be diffirent and that I made the right choice so I won't waste my money for nothing.

One card is meant for the gym and the other one for swimming.
It was not meant for me to have the swimming at first but the lady that fixed it for me misunderstood and thought I wanted the full package. Ow well, now there is no going back.

What has happened?

Three weeks ago I made a decision that I have should have done long time before. I decided to stop school.

It was way too hard for me and way too stressful, even though with some determination and hard work it would work. So now I have tried to focus on what I want to do with my life.

What about the blog then, you wonder? Well, I want you to keep in mind that I still want to blog. I like being creative and share my life with you like it was an adventure. The problem is that I lose my motivation and put too much pressure on myself that I have to make it perfect. So now I have decided that I will write whenever I feel to. Sometimes it will be everyday sometimes it will almost be a month until you see anything. Summer and winter holidays I will definatly not write anything since I want to spend time with my friends and family.

I hope you will understand. ♥

Enjoying spring

You are not going to believe this, but it is over 20 degrees outside! Some may think I am a little crazy when it comes how little I dress compared to the temperature, but I can assure you that this is like a swedish summer. I even got a little tan after the time sitting in the sun!

And oh yea I was reading this little book for some fun inspiration in life. Some facts are a little random while others can really make you think on how you can make your life happy and meaningful.

When life is though

*Listening to music and writing down my dreams*

Sometimes it feels like life is hopeless, like there is only one way to go and you have to go there no matter if you like it or not. Yes, I am talking about my studies and the difficulty of living in another country.

It feels sad when the belgian students does not want to be a friend of you just because you are not speaking the dutch well enough. I don't mind being diffirent but I don't want to be secluded because I am. Things like this brings me down - makes me want to give up even though I find psychology so interesting.

Skiing trip - Part 2

We have arrived at Saint Martin de Belleville!

Aw, seeing snow is like falling in love all over again. Yet it wasn't as much snow I had expected, but I guess it was a little less after the snow had melted a little bit.

So what we started doing while our room/apartment was getting ready, we did grocery shopping, went for a late lunch and got our ski's.

Skiing trip - Part 1

On our way..

Like many of you have requested, I am now going to show you the pics from the skiing trip. Since there is some pictures to show, I will devide it in few parts. So yea, let's begin!

One of the few plane rides that I have been to, have I never been so amazed over the incredible view from the plane's window. Words and pictures can't explain it - you just have to be there.

Time to get the taxi that will take us 2 hours until we arrive at our hotel..

..and the enviroment couldn't get less interesting after what I saw from the plane!

I'll see you next time!

Exams

My exam period has just started and stress is overflowing in my life. I hope I can do this, and that this course/program (or whatever you want to call it) was the right thing to do.

It is not always fun to grow up with hard decisions on the top of our head. However that, in the end, makes us grow to what we are today.

Apartment after

Okay, here is the pictures of the complete apartment with furnitures and all. (Sorry for the big delay..)
I will explain through the pictures what everything is.

So here we have the kitchen, kind of the first thing you see when you enter the apartment.

To the left there is a oven on the top and a microwave on the bottom. Here in Belgium you often have to buy a separate oven since the gas stove is just placed on the bench..

..as you can see here.

Another thing that is very normal over here is that the pantry (skafferi in swedish) is "open". It's not "hidden" like it is in Sweden for an example.

Now we are in the living room/bedroom. And I think the picture explain mostly everything.

The desk to the left is John's and the one to the right is mine. Mine was meant to be a dinner table but nowdays we eat always on the couch, hahaha ;) Oh, student life..

Now we are in the last room, the bathroom.

Yeah I know it is a bit messy in here.

The toilet room that is separate room from the bathroom.

If you want to watch the pictures from how the apartment looked before, klick here.

Oh Christmas Tree

Instead of a star on the top we have a santa!
(Yea okay, we need more christmas decorations but this is the only thing we had.)

I have realised that we still have our christmas tree in the apartment while all the other people have thrown theirs out. I don't even what to do with this one.. we would like to plant it somewhere outside however having something alive in our apartment is also kind of nice.

Seems like this one is going to stay here until the summer..

Life comes with hard decisions

For some people life starts when they are 20, for me it seems more like it took a break..

In the previous post that I made earlier today I told you that I have been thinking about my life over what I want to do with my life. My thought right now is if I want to continue the psychology class in dutch because it is so hard. But in the same time it is so interesting. Perhaps I will take a step down and only ready dutch.. ugh I am really not sure.

So yesterday evening I sat down started to write a list - A list over my dreams. It gives me passion and motivation to strive for my goals/dreams. Maybe somewhere in my list I will find my path to what I want to do. Time will tell I guess..

Christmas shopping

Tramstation in Montgomery

Pheuw, I just stepped in to our apartment and trough myself on the couch with some aching feet. I shouldn't complain too much because the day was awesome!
I got to do all the christmas shopping within 3 hours, we got to have a break with something to drink, we had time to see The hobbit - The desolation of the Smaug (which I highly reccomend for everyone to watch!) and we got to have some burgers just before we got home!

So yea, here is some pics over how fun we had, especially in the children store, haha!

I just wanted to show you guys how actually tired we were after the shopping when we were in the cinema.. the picture says it all, doesn't it?

Cupcake lip gloss

Hey there!

Last weekend I was busy with cleaning the whole apartment after making a "birthday-party" for John. I was tired and exhausted and John was off for the christmas shopping with his mom so I didn't get any help that day.
Later when John came back home he said he had bought something for me while holding the thing in his hand. I thought to myself: "what is this?? A butterfly or something??", then when he opened his hands it was this cute tiny cupcake lipgloss!

It felt like all that work was totally worth for something adorable like this. After all it is the tiny things that can totally bright up our day. ♥

Tomorrow we are off for some christmas shopping and watching The Hobbit!

Cooking is tiring

Tired, I am so tired right now.
After 2 ½ hour of making dinner that inclueded homemade- meatballs and mashed potatoes. I didn't expect it to take it so long, and I think the ingredients is not the same as they are in sweden. So it was hard to get the consistency but the tast was easier to score.
Okay now I am going to bed, alot need to be done tomorrow..

Good night you all!
